The Committee responsible for the official celebrations of the 200th birth anniversary of Julisz Slowacki awarded the film director Dariusz Zawislak a commermorative medal for his film BALLADYNA.
BALLADYNA – THE BAIT: prime time , suspense thriller based on one of the most intriguing political drama's from the Polish Epic - “BALLADYNA” (first published in 1839) written by one of the greatest 19th century Polish poets and dramatists – Juliusz Slowacki.
A star New York City detective is investigating the beating of a young girl. Following the crime trail he finds new victims. As the bodies start to pile up, so does the list of possible suspects. This "Who Done It" starts to look like a "Who Didn't Do It" with a surprising twist when love, romance, envy and rage collide.
This modern-made film is based on the biography of Karol Wojtyla, and tells stories of young people born when the popular Polish priest become a pope for the world. They matured during his pontificate and their not always easy lives crossed roads with the teachings and pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II. Heroes are of two sorts: famous personalities and the unknown. They are of different nationalities, opinions and cultures. They represent different religious denominations. They differ in philosophies of life, profession, interests. But in this particular crossroad, they are connected by a birthday – and the personage of the Holy Father, John Paul II, who was a generation’s inspiration and the main point of this story of his effect on their lives.

Death begs God for just one day of vacation. Since there is much to do on the earth, a substitute - the Angel of Death - is found for the job. Right from the start he runs into bad luck and what is more a beautiful blonde - the Guardian Angel - is bothering him. Little Angelica moves out in search of Santa Claus. Christmas Day is coming soon, so she wants to fulfill her Christmas wish - to find money to save her orphanage from closing down. On the way the little girl meets an accountant named Claus who has stolen a huge amount of money. He is being chased by a bunch of bumbling hoodlums.
